Google Applets available for regular websites
Search engine giant Google has now made available their applets for regular web site owners. Until now, these applets were only available to users to install them on their desktops and Google Personalized Homepages.
They are not alone providing these mini applications for downloading. Apple has similar applications named widgets for their Dashboard. Microsoft calls them Gadgets. And Yahoo! acquired Konfabulator to launch Yahoo! Widgets.
Web users with their own web pages and blogs can now use Google Applets on their web pages. These are available as snippets of HTML code, which can be embedded in web pages for interactivity.
These include all kind of tools and applications including games, clocks, calendars, calculators, and more.
