Microsoft acquires DesktopStandard
Software giant Microsoft has acquired the developers of I.T. management tools, DesktopStandard. This company specializes in developing software applications to help network administrators manage access between groups of company computers.
Microsoft added that they now plan to add these acquired technologies into their Microsoft Group Policy software. Market analyst Natalie Lambert added on this acquisition: “It makes a lot of sense for Microsoft. DesktopStandard has made a lot of policy enhancements to the Windows environment.”
DesktopStandard would also help the company gain more customers as they already serve around 3500 companies with their application suites. Larry Orecklin, general manager of Microsoft’s Windows Enterprise Management Division added: “DesktopStandard products are already seamlessly integrated with Microsoft Group Policy and are completely complementary with Microsoft technology.â€
