AOL makes available its parental control software to all

Internet Company AOL has now made available its parental control software to anyone interested. This is the latest step from the company to attract new users to their services.

AOL was making available this application to their own customers and subscribers until now. Now, the application is available to all web users.

This tool provides parents with age-based access controls to Web sites. In addition, parents can also restrict access to instant messaging and chat. They also have the option to get the logs of the online activity of their kids.

AOL is now making this application free for anyone who can provide a credit card for age verification.

The company faces intense competition from other online giants including Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft MSN.
