Apple working on updating .Mac Email service
Apple Computer is working on updating their .Mac email service to compete against the growing competition from free webmail services like Gmail, Yahoo! Mail and Windows Live Mail.
The company said in a statement: \”The new .Mac webmail is coming soon, and you’ll feel like you’ve seen it before.â€
The updated .Mac mail service would sport a Mail-like interface just like the built-in Mail application of Mac OS X. it would support features like drag-and-drop, message flagging and keyboard shortcuts. It would also come with a built in address book.
Apple also plans to make this update friendlier for people with slower connection. Instead of reloading the entire page, it only refreshes the part of the webmail section, which needs updating. Sounds like they borrowed a lot of ideas from both Gmail and Yahoo! Mail Beta.
