Trend Micro announces the 2007 Internet Security Suite
Security software maker Trend Micro has announced their 2007 version of its Internet security suite. This latest update would feature the popular PC-cillin engine, anti-malware protection, and new features designed to counter rootkits, spyware, phishing, spam, hackers, viruses, Wi-Fi attacks, Smartphone threats, and identity-theft threats.
Carol Carpenter, VP Global Marketing, Consumer Segment, Trend Micro added in a statement: “The channel has become a bit of a price war. We’ve determined that we want to deliver a stronger, differentiated value proposition. We’ve seen the threat landscape change from viruses to malware and crimeware. Consumer needs have changed and yes we have 50 percent of the Internet population covered, but there’s still a lot who aren’t covered.”
This latest update would come loaded with PC-Cillan malware engine, a new virus engine. They have also integrated the InterMute anti-spyware engine acquired by Trend Micro last year.
The subscription to this application suite would include TrendSecure, the new online security service.
The company claimed that this suite would be compatible with the upcoming Windows Vista operating system.
