Red Hat Application Stack to now include JBoss

Leading Linux Distro maker Red Hat has announced that they would offer a bundling of the Java middleware stack as an option of Red Hat Enterprise Linux customers.

This would help them expand the JBoss’s footprint, as it would make JBoss available through Red Hat’s existing channels.

This new bundled package would be called Red Hat Application Stack and it would be targeted at the developers using Java and “LAMP” (Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl/Phython/PHP).

This was expected by the market analysts after Red Hat recently acquired the developers of JBoss.

Todd Barr, director of enterprise marketing at Red Hat said in a statement on their plans: “We’re really positioning ourselves for a future, even today, as an infrastructure provider for flexible and low-cost (computing). Open source is really the means by which you can get there.”
