Cognos to launch Cognos 8 Go! Mobile next year

Cognos Inc. has announced their plans to enter the market for business analysis software in the mobile segment.

The company plans to launch Cognos 8 Go! Mobile application suite for the blackberry platform by next year.

Cognos said in a statement that this application is meant to help executives and workers make better decisions while they are on the road.

Market analyst Jack Gold spoke on this announcement: “We expect that white-collar workers, executives, and first-line/second-line management are going to be mobile — meaning out of the office working somewhere — probably close to 75 percent of the time within the next couple of years.”

Cognos added that this application suite disconnects when a user is offline and has theft protection with electronic keys and locks.
