AOL now providing a beta of OpenRide application
Time Warner’s internet division AOL has made available a beta of an upgrade of its broadband client. This new client would consolidate their core offerings on one user interface.
This new application release has been named OpenRide and it was formerly codenamed Streamliner. AOL is using a quad-view design, which let them display AOL\’s email, instant messaging service and address book, a Web browser and entertainment center and player for music, videos and photos on the single interface.
The final release date of this application has not been revealed to the media. This comes weeks after AOL announced that it would offer its paid service and email at no charge to broadband users. The company plans to enhance their revenues from online advertisement powered services.
