Google launches Google Apps for Your Domain

Search engine giant Google is now expanding their range of services in order to generate more revenues from non-advertisement related businesses.

The company has now launched a set of Web programs for e-mail, scheduling and communications. They have created a software platform to run basic business activities and this would help them take on recently announced services and solutions from rivals Microsoft.

Google’s latest initiative is called ‘Google Apps for Your Domain’ and they further have plans to offer a version to meet the demands of bigger corporations and government agencies.

The company would be hosting these applications and related data and as a result would help the companies get rid of the tensions associated with maintaining these services in their offices.

Some of the applications currently available on this platform include Gmail Web e-mail, the Google Talk instant message and Web phone-calling service. They are also making available group scheduling on Google Calendar, and Google Page Creator for Web page design.
