Apple launches new MacBook firmware to adjust fan behavior

iPod maker Apple Computers has released MacBook SMC Firmware Update for the owners of MacBook.

This update is available as a free download from the Apple’s website. This update patches the MacBook’s System Management Controller (SMC), which is a micro-controller on the logic board of the MacBook and other Mac laptops.

This chip controls various functions, including power and thermal management.

The company has said that this update would adjust fan behavior in the MacBook and should help the noise problems reported by the owner of these MacBook computers.
