Mozilla Firefox 2 to ship sometime in October this year
Open source foundation Mozilla has revealed that they are delaying the launch of their upcoming Firefox 2 web browser and it should be out in sometime October this year.
As per incoming information, the foundation has discovered as many as 40 bugs in the under-construction Firefox 2.0 Beta 2 and another 100 are required to be fixed before a final can be released in public.
Mozilla has already released the first beta of the Firefox 2 browser application and the beta 2 was recently delayed for a couple of weeks.
Firefox 2 beta 2 is currently scheduled for release on August 23 and the release candidate version of Firefox 2 is scheduled for release on September 19. Firefox 2 final is expected to be out on October 24.
In the meantime, the foundation would be releasing Firefox 1.5.0.7 — the next security update for the current production version of the browser sometime in the first week of September.
