Motorola to rely on Linux for mobile phone technologies
US based mobile phone maker Motorola has said that they are developing all its advanced phone features on Linux first.
However, they also plan to continue making phones powered by Microsoft Windows Mobile and Symbian OS to meet the demands of particular markets.
Nevertheless, the world’s second largest maker of mobile phones after Nokia is betting on the open source operating system Linux to power their next generation of mobile phone products.
Linux is rapidly turning into a potent challenger to Symbian, Windows Mobile, and other mobile device platforms.
Market experts also believe that the company is turning to Linux considering rivals Nokia are betting on Symbian for their future products.
