Symantec releases Norton Confidential beta

Symantec has finally released the beta of their upcoming security application Norton Confidential. However, this beta is not compatible with company’s existing applications and the users would be required to uninstall other Norton products if they want to test out this new product.

The application was originally announced in the month of June by the company and it comes with anti-phishing blacklists and heuristic-based detectors, keylogger and screen grabber sniffers, site authentication cues, and a password manager.

The company is planning to showcase it as an after-market add-on for their existing customers. They already have products like Norton Internet Security and Norton AntiVirus available in the market.

Symantec is also due to launch a subscription based security package named Norton 360 in the market.

A Mac OS X version is also planned though the beta only supports the Windows XP operating system.
