Google Chrome 12 launched in stable channel!
Google has finally launched Chrome 12 in stable channel.
This released was earlier expected to be released last month but was delayed.
One of the major changes in this build is the missing Gears component. Google has removed Gears from Chrome 12.
This means that you no longer have access to features like Offline Gmail until Google makes it available using HTML5 technologies… This is planned for launch in the coming days.
Here is a quick look at the changes in Chrome 12:
Hardware accelerated 3D CSS
New Safe Browsing protection against downloading malicious files
Ability to delete Flash cookies from inside Chrome
Launch Apps by name from the Omnibox
Integrated Sync into new settings pages
Improved screen reader support
New warning when hitting Command-Q on Mac
Removal of Google Gears
There are tons of bug and stability fixes too. More details here.
