MetroTwit is a pretty cool Twitter app powered by .NET Framework 4.0
We have played around with tons of Twitter desktop apps. DestroyTwitter has remained our favorite for a long time now.
MetroTwit is a new one that we recently discovered and it is pretty incredible to say the least.
The app is powered by .NET Framework 4.0 and hence works only on the Windows OS. It is based on the Windows Presentation Foundation 4 framework that makes it an excellent native app for Windows user.

We have been using it for a couple of days now and it is pretty stable. Has enough features for a beta edition. It looks beautiful and uses nice subtle animations for various actions.
It currently only supports a single Twitter account. No other service platform is supported. As a result, it is targeted at normal folks rather than techies who need a lot more from their apps.
Some of the highlight features:
Support for Twitter conversations
Easy access to hashtags and trends
Infinite scrolling
URL previews and shortening
Integration with Windows 7 taskbar
Support for themes and accents
Powerful notifications
Resizable with flexible columns
Support for higher DPI
