Borland Software all set to sell its IDE business
Borland Software has said that they have received inquiries from approximately a dozen interested parties about its IDE products and they are closing in on a deal.
The sale would include products like JBuilder Java tool and Delphi offering for Windows and they expect it to be complete by September this year.
Borland had said earlier this year that they are now aiming to concentrate on application lifecycle management. And they would sell off their IDE business and the InterBase database as a single unit.
They have not revealed the names of interested parties in their products but the market experts believe that IBM, Oracle and even Google can be interested in these applications.
IBM and Google have declined to comment on these rumors and Oracle responded by saying that they are focusing on their own products. Market analysts also are optimistic about the sale of Borland IDE products as they are still very popular and have an installed base of around 4.5 million users.
