AOL unveils Total Care package for computer security
Time Warner’s internet division AOL has announced the availability of their Total Care security package. The application is being offered in beta version as of now as the company aims to make it easier for the customers to ensure the security of their computers.
AOL claims that this security application would provide home users the same level of protection enjoyed by most I.T. professionals.
AOL spokesperson Andrew Weinstein said in a statement: “There is a lot of fear, and confusion among computer users today, and we can offer is a service that provides security and place to go keep a machine up and running properly.â€
The application comes with anti-virus and anti-spyware applications along with an internet firewall software. They are using the tools developed by McAfee. The suite also includes hard drive backup and remote PC backup features.
The company is offering support for these applications through online, by phone, or through house calls and they plan to add more features to this suite before it goes final.
Weinstein added: “This is the most comprehensive PC protection package available to PC users, who are increasingly worried about security threats and who may need help solving their computing problems. What we are providing is a lot stronger than our customers currently receive.”
