Yahoo to enhance Finance services to counter Google Finance challenge

Google might be the leaders in the search engine market but statistics have revealed that Yahoo! continues to dominate online financial services market.

And the company does not want to lose this advantage as Google just recently revamped their Google Finance section with interactive features.

The search engine company and the operators of the world’s most popular portal would soon begin distributing free real-time stock quotes and news headlines. These tools would be available to website owners to run on their own sites.

Peggy White, general manager for Yahoo Finance said that these badges with latest information would help the company gain more traffic in the coming months. They might even add advertisements to these interactive elements in the future to gain revenues.

In addition, the company also plans to unveil a business-focused video news service and enhanced Yahoo message boards.
