Mozilla Corporation launches Mozilla Firefox 2 Beta 1
Mozilla Corporation has finally launched the first official beta of their upcoming browser application Mozilla Firefox 2.
This release was popularly known as Bon Echo during the alpha testing phase. Experts have said that the beta is unsuitable for the general public who might face problems with stability and add-ons like skins and extensions.
Mozilla added: “We do not recommend that anyone other than developers and testers download the Firefox 2 Beta 1 milestone release. It is intended for testing purposes only.â€
Mozilla Firefox 2 Beta 1 offers in-line spell checker, anti-phishing alerts, and restore-after-crash. The company has also improved existing features like tabs, news feeds, and extension and theme add-ons.
The beta 2 of this browser is now expected to come in August with the final launch scheduled for September this year. This update would take on the upcoming Internet Explorer 7 release from Microsoft and already launched Opera Browser 9.
