OpenOffice found to have three vulnerabilities

Open source office suite developers OpenOffice.org have warned the users of their product of three security issues, which can crash the OpenOffice.org productivity software.

These flaws can also possibly give the malicious hackers access to full system resources. The flaw exists in OpenOffice.org versions 2.0.x and 1.1.x though no known exploits have been found available on the web yet.

The organization is advising the users to upgrade to the latest version 2.0.3 which was just released last week. And they are planning to issue a patch for the users of version 1.x.x so that they don’t have to take the pain of upgrading to a major release just to get rid of these flaws.

Incidentally, these security flaws also affect the users of Sun Microsystems Inc’s StarOffice Office Suite versions 6, 7 and 8. Sun’s office productivity suite is based on OpenOffice project.
