Australian government to provide free internet porn filters

The Australian government has announced in a decision that all the families in the nation would be provided free filters to block pornography on the Internet.

This decision is part of their new 120 million dollar government package called Protecting Australian Families. This package is developed to protect children from the scum on the internet.

Australian Communications Minister Helen Coonan said in a statement on this initiative: “This is the single biggest commitment to protecting families online in the history of the Internet in Australia.”

However, they would not make using this filter compulsory and the parents would be free to set the limits on what is blocked and what is not.

These tools would be delivered to the end users through their ISPs and the government expects that as many as 2.5 million families would start using them in the coming years.

The government would make it compulsory for the ISPs in the country to provide these tools for free to their customers.
