Microsoft Robotics Studio: Microsoft sets its eye on Robotics

Software giants Microsoft has previewed a set of new software tools developed to make it easier for engineers to design robots and to create and test programs that operate a wide range of machines.

The company believes that this market would be growing fast in the future and they need to be a part of it.

Microsoft Robotics Group general manager Tandy Trower said in a statement: “We believe this is a key part of the future of computing.” He added that his group believes that robots would be the next evolution of what we call today the personal computer.

Microsoft released their first product for this market named Microsoft Robotics Studio and it is targeted on hobbyists, students or commercial developers working in this field.

The technical preview of this application is available as a free download from the company’s website.
