AOL testing AIM Pro Professional Edition (PE)
AOL has started testing their AIM Pro Professional Edition (PE) edition of the instant messaging application. This application is the corporate version of the AOL Messenger and has been designed for individual professionals, departments, and small and medium-sized businesses.
AOL is expected to launch the final version of this application sometime later this year and is developing it in collaboration with WebEx Communications.
Interested users can download this application at beta.aol.com for free now. The final version would come with a subscription fee. This version of the AOL Messenger would come with more security features for secure conversations and would be advertisement free. The AOL messenger is often criticized for the cluttered ad-laden interface.
The company is also expected to launch a separate beta test for the Enterprise Instant Messaging (EIM) edition of AIM Pro next week. It is being designed for use in large corporations and includes IT management and administration features.
