Yahoo! launches My Web 2.0 for Indian web users

Search engine giant Yahoo! has launched their My Web 2.0 interactive service for the Indian web users. It is an improved search module that would allow users to save and organize pages looked for by them on the web.

They would be able to access these links from any computer where they are logged in using Yahoo! account id. This module is called My Web 2.0 and it is now available to Indian users of the service.

My Web 2.0 allows the Yahoo! users to save, organize and tag actual web pages and bookmarks on a personal account. These are stored on the company’s web servers and are accessible from any computer connected to the internet.

These results are available from the user’s personalized `My Web` account and they can also share and discuss these results with their buddies on the internet. The company statement said: “My Web 2.0 creates a personal online web archive for a user by saving his favorite pages, search results, and history to his personal account. The user can save, organize and find pages in a sequential manner making it easier to organize the saved pages. The search module also makes the contents of the saved web page searchable.”

    Hi Sushubh:

You might be interested in looking at indiamarks (www.indiamarks.com) as well, which is a social bookmarking service targeted at the global indian community. While we have started with a bookmarking centric application, the idea really is to deliver a searchable and tagged index of valuable india and indian-related content – which will really make it much easier for the good/clean/valuable indian content to surface better and faster. Let me know what you think.

    Best,
    -Vaibhav
